Diagnostic Testing
When your pet isn’t feeling their best, getting answers matters. Our in-clinic diagnostic tools allow us to quickly investigate concerns, from routine bloodwork to advanced imaging like ultrasound and endoscopy. This means faster diagnoses, more informed treatment plans, and better outcomes for your pet.

Why Diagnostics Matter
Diagnostic testing helps us look beyond what we can see in an exam, allowing us to better understand your pet’s internal health. When your pet is ill, they can help us understand what is causing illness and how best to treat your pet.
In other cases, we may discuss diagnostic testing to help us detect disease early. For example, senior wellness screening profiles can be used to identify and manage concerns early, before your pet is showing obvious signs of illness.

Blood and Urine Testing
Blood and urine testing provides a general look at your pet’s health. We look at their blood cell counts to identify infection, anemia, or dehydration. We are also looking at organ function, electrolytes, and protein to see how the body is working.
At Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital we can perform blood and urine tests in hospital, when we need those answers quickly! We also work closely with a referral lab where we can send our samples to that offers a broader range of testing.
X-rays
X-rays, also known as radiographs, are an imaging tool we use. They are particularly good at looking at bones, lungs, and some abdominal organs.
We perform the majority of x-rays hands free. Instead of staff holding your pet during the X-ray, we use positioning aids and gentle restraint techniques to keep them comfortable while staying completely still. This reduces stress for your pet and improves image quality, while also keeping our team safe from unnecessary radiation exposure.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is another diagnostic imaging tool that looks at organs, structures, and tissues inside the body. It creates images by bouncing sound waves off different parts of the body.
At Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital, we are able to provide this testing in hospital for our patients. If you would like to learn more, please visit our website page on Ultrasound, found under the Service menu.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is the practice of using a thin tube with a small high-definition camera and light to assess internal structures of our patients up close. At Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital endoscopy allows us to both perform internal diagnostics and treatments but also minimally invasive surgical procedures.
