We Care About the Same Things You Care About.

Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital (HPAH), has partnered with Alberta-based organization, Project Forest to help rewild Canada. Why are we planting trees, you may ask? It’s simple, because we care about the same things you care about – our environment.

Our love and dedication to animal care don’t stop at the clinic doors. We believe that a healthy planet means healthier people and healthier pets, and that’s why we’re proud to be a Bronze Grove Partner of Project Forest, supporting the planting of over 1,000 trees in Alberta. This isn’t just about trees; it’s about restoring natural habitats, biodiversity, improving air quality, and contributing to meaningful Indigenous community impact.

Holistic Care and an Opportunity to Give Back

Our approach to care is holistic, and that mindset extends to the world our pets and their humans live in. Many of us at the Hospital live by sustainable values, and our team has long been looking for ways to make a real environmental impact that is close to home. We’ve always believed in giving back—whether through high-quality pet care, supporting local wildlife rehabilitation, or now, planting trees to help combat climate change.

When we learned about Project Forest’s mission to rewild Canada, create cleaner air, and impact Indigenous communities, we knew this was the perfect opportunity to turn our values into action.

Making Change and Impact Close to Home

Climate change and deforestation are massive challenges, and it’s easy to feel like small businesses like ours can’t make a difference. But at HPAH, we believe in tangible action. That’s why our partnership with Project Forest feels so important. By planting trees right here in Alberta, we’re contributing to cleaner air, restoring natural spaces, and creating habitats that support wildlife. These aren’t abstract, far-off goals – they’re real changes happening in the places we call home.

We also recognize the deep connection between land and people. This initiative impacts Indigenous communities, ensuring that rewilding efforts are led with the knowledge that has sustained ecosystems for generations.

Why It Matters to Our Team and Clients

The HPAH team is passionate about sustainability, and this initiative aligns perfectly with our values of corporate responsibility, environmental sustainability and a belief in tangible reconciliation. In fact, we even have a Green Committee, dedicated to finding ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

For our staff, this partnership is more than just a corporate initiative – it’s personal. Many of us already make eco-conscious choices in our daily lives, and now, we have a way to extend that impact on a larger scale.

We know this resonates with our clients, too. Many of you are pet owners who love nature, enjoy outdoor adventures, and care deeply about the environment. This is an opportunity for all of us to come together to make a lasting difference.

Leading by Example in the Veterinary Community

While sustainability is a hot topic in many industries, the veterinary world hasn’t always been at the forefront of environmental action and we want to change that.

By partnering with Project Forest, we’re setting a new standard for what it means to be a responsible veterinary hospital. We hope to inspire and partner with other clinics to take action – because if we can make a difference as a small, locally owned business, so can others.

For us, it’s not about being the biggest – it’s about making real, tangible impact where it matters.
